Polish demon Dusiołek. Dusiołek reminiscent of zmora. It is a creature, modeled on devil, who sitting on chest and sucking of breath, especially in situations of sadness and unhappiness.


Dusiołek – Boleslaw Leśmian’s poem, published in 1920 in a collection entitled Łąka. Polish children learn this poem in the sixth grade of primary school. In the poem Dusiołek shown the story of Bajdała who was walking through the world. He was accompanied by ox and jade. Tired Bajdała decided to take a nap near the forest on moss. At one point, he came out of the ditch Dusiołek, who began to choke Bajdała. He defeated Dusiołek and began to reproach Jade and the ox that there didn’t help.
